Life Time Distributions Via Petri Nets and State Graphs

It is shown that the distribution function (or its density) of the life (time) of non-repairable systems can be found in a fairly systematic way via the system's Petri net backed up by the well known state graph (or state diagram). Both graphs are needed to check the rather formidable multiple integrals of the general solutions. Some of the results given will be quite useful to check advanced tools of Markov modeling and Monte Carlo simulation. (Details of such checks are not included for lack of space.)
