Software

The open source software MyCoRe provides the basic functions of the deposit_hagen document and publication server. The search function is implemented using Apache Solr.

Both the repository software and the search engine use Apache Tomcat as the application server, which runs in a virtual machine with Linux providing the operating system. The virtual machine is part of the GBV VMware cluster.

To enhance the availability of the service, the Tomcat application server is monitored locally via the Java wrapper software YAJSW and remotely using Nagios.

The metadata of the documents and the documents themselves are saved as files in the file system of the virtual machine. In addition, the metadata is versioned by Apache Subversion and all files are backed up daily.
