Who can submit documents?
Documents can be submitted by all members of the FernUniversität in Hagen.
Which documents can be published?
All types of scientific publications (articles, essays, series titles, research papers, etc.) and qualification work (dissertations, post-doctoral papers, Bachelor’s and Master’s theses, coursework)
For reasons of quality assurance, a declaration of consent is required from the examiners for the publication of Bachelor’s and Master’s theses and coursework.
Which file formats can be submitted?
- PDF formats are preferred
- Appropriate formats can be submitted for audio and video files.
- Uploaded documents may not be protected using technical protection measures.

Declaration of consent
You must sign a declaration of consent for each of your uploaded documents. This will be sent to you automatically by email after the publication process on deposit_hagen. In this declaration of consent, you grant the FernUniversität in Hagen a permanent non-exclusive right to publicly reproduce your document on the Internet, to create printouts and data media with the document and to make any necessary data changes in the course of technical developments. Furthermore, you assure that the publication does not violate any rights of third parties. The declaration of consent must be signed and returned to the library (as a printout by post or as a scan via email).
Secondary publication
It is generally possible, after a certain deadline, to republish documents that have already been published in Open Access.

Allocation of rights
You have the option of choosing between different legal conditions when posting your document. The default setting is “All rights reserved.” However, you can also provide your document with a CC license. You can find more information on CC licenses in the FAQ.
