Declaration on Accessibility
Hagen University Library makes every effort to ensure that its website ub-deposit.fernuni-hagen.de (hereinafter: publication server) is accessible in accordance with national legislation on the implementation of Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament.
Status of Compliance with Legal Requirements
The publication server is partially compliant with the Disability Equality Act of North Rhine-Westphalia (BGG NRW) and the Barrier-free Information Technology Ordinance of North Rhine-Westphalia (BITV NRW).
Content with Possible Accessibility Issues
Some of the documents published on the publication server are not wholly barrier-free and cannot be automatically converted into an accessible format, as
- Hagen University Library does not have the right to modify the files,
- the source formats are not available,
- the citability of the documents would no longer be guaranteed.
In digital copies created from scans of existing printed works, OCR software is used to place text behind the page images. No further processing is carried out with regard to accessibility in order to preserve the authenticity of the reproduction.
The publication server is aimed at academics from the respective faculties. Due to the complex content, it is not possible to use simple language and common technical terms and abbreviations are used.
Creation of this accessibility statement
This declaration was created on 23 September 2020. The assessment is based on self-evaluation.
